Bassmnt SD to Reopen as Bloom Nightclub

The nightlife scene in San Diego took a huge hit during the pandemic as venues shuttered their doors. Last year saw a handful of clubs begin slowly but surely re-open, some like Parq, made a grand return while others like Bang Bang saw a changing of the guard on who was running the show. But it wasn’t until 2022 that two pillars of the nightlife scene, OMNIA San Diego and Bassmnt Nightclub, saw some renewed activity of their own.

This past week, Bassmnt Nightclub posted a message to their social media accounts stating that “big news was coming soon.” The latest update arrived on Monday as they announced that the nightclub would be ending its run after nearly a decade of operation in downtown San Diego. Artists such as ARMNHMR, Markus Schulz, Noizu, Wenzday, Dack Janiels, Ummet Ozcan, SVDDEN DEATH, and more had graced their stage over the years.

The reason why San Diegans looking to get their groove on shouldn’t despair is because the venue itself will be going through an “extensive remodel and upgrade,” leading to the reopening of a brand new nightclub, Bloom. Their instagram page indicates that a hiring fair is taking place on Monday to Thursday 1/31 – 2/04, from 12 PM – 4 PM at 919 Fourth Avenue, Suite 202 in downtown San Diego.

Their upcoming calendar shows a soft opening in early March, with Snakehips set to perform on 4/2/22.

Stay tuned to get more updates on this exciting addition to SD nightlife!
